The Sinking World of Andreas Franke – Stavronikita Project.
This unique artwork begins as a composite photograph of submerged ships combined with studio photographs representing people in scenes from everyday life, as well as days gone by. The photographs are covered with Plexi-glass then carefully hung back on the shipwreck as exhibits for scuba divers to enjoy. The photos stay on exhibit approximately 3 months. While underwater, marine life randomly grows on each image. The result of this process makes each picture a unique unrivaled piece of art.
